Canada Line | Coquitlam Light Rail
This line will connect with the existing SkyTrain line at the Waterfront station, continue in a tunnel through town, across False Creek and across the Frasier River into Richmond. A branch line will serve Vancouver International Airport. The line will also serve major employment centers, City Hall and of course the airport. The timeline is to finish the line by 2009, just in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
This line will serve major population and employment centers, and of course the airport. It adds a westerly leg to the rapid transit system (the current SkyTrain line is the Eastern leg) and will help with traffic issues from the coming Winter Olympics.
This extension to Coquitlam (now called the Evergreen Line) will connect with the recently-opened Millennium Line. The line will server Coquitlam, Port Moody and stops in between. The line is in the preliminary planning stages.
